How much does direct cremation cost?

Direct cremation includes:  removal from place of death; arrangements; placing obituaries in newspapers (but not the newspaper charges (if any); container for deceased to be placed in for creamation; on-site refrigeration for up to 48 hours; cremation process, which is performed by Jackie on-site; obtaining necessary and required permits and authorizations required; an inexpensive urn (if another isn’t desired); filing of insurance forms; applying for VA benefits; a private family identification viewing;  currently $1,495.00.  If an individual qualifies for a Medicaid funeral, we are an authorized funeral provider.

Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC is locally owned and operated by Jacquelyn A. “Jackie” Buckheit.  Jackie is a native of Tioga County and employs a number of associates to assist her in caring for families in need.  Current staff include:  Richard “Rich” Vacula, Keith Graver, William “Bill” Herbst, Margaret “Peg” Cleveland, Harry Youmans, James “Jim” Edgerton, Carl Steingraber, and Marlene Herbst.
